In the foothills of Mount Talomo, in Davao in the southern Philippines, lies a land teeming with fruit, including durian, rambutan, highland bananas, and cacao trees. The cacao beans used to make this chocolate are from the spring 2019 harvest, and have delicate notes of honey, pear, and toffee.
Kasama Chocolate is a group of friends from Vancouver who started making small batch, bean-to-bar chocolate with cocoa from the Philippines in 2015.
The word "Kasama" means friendship, camaraderie and collaboration.
