Description
In 1798, there were first reports of cacao being cultivated in southern India, initially for European consumers living in the country. Today, the original production area has been overtaken in terms of quantity by the regions of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. In Kerala itself, more precisely in the Idukki area, GoGround has set up a project to support the income of small local cacao farmers. It helps them to improve the chain process of fermenting and drying the beans in order to obtain high quality cocoa, resulting in a higher price that guarantees the farmers an increase in their income capacity.
Tasting notes: mild notes of red berries, cherry, raspberry and a delicious final with spicy notes.
