When you buy food online, do you look up food hygiene ratings?
Now, it is true that we don’t make chocolate. Neither do we handle unwrapped chocolate (except when we are sampling it ourselves, of course).
But we do store the chocolate before we send it out. We have obligations to ensure the chocolate is stored correctly, as well as having good stock records and passing on information about allergens.
Back in June we had our first Food Hygiene Inspection from North Northamptonshire Council. We were pleased to be awarded a rating of 5, scoring the highest marks in the following areas –
- Food Hygiene & Safety
- Structure & Cleaning
- Management control systems / training
They were pleased with our controls around Best Before End dates, and that we are storing the chocolate away from pests and that we are monitoring temperatures.
