Description
It is in the heart of the Cocoa Coast, in the south of the State of Bahia, in the tropical forest of Mata Atlantica, that the Fazenda Camboa estate is located.
Founded in 1942 by Arthur’s great-grandfather and Eduardo Carvalho, this family business was one of Brazil’s most successful cocoa producers and exporters. In 1989, production suddenly dropped by 96% due to a virus affecting all of the country’s cocoa plantations. Brothers Arthur and Eduardo Carvalho, determined to revitalize the family business, manage to neutralize the disease and gradually transform Fazenda Camboa into a thriving estate of premium cocoa cultivation. In 2004, the Carvalho brothers obtained organic certification.
From these exceptional beans, Shoukâ draws a 72% cocoa dark chocolate bar, produced with the greatest care in Chamonix. Tasting notes of woody and chocolate, with floral and citrus notes.
