The private Finca Kampura in Izabal, founded in 2011, is located on formerly agricultural pastureland. Since a change of ownership, the site has been gradually converted into a diverse agroforestry system.
Over 500,000 trees have been planted – including endangered tropical species that now provide shade for the fine-flavored cacao growing there. The trees are cultivated under mahogany, rosewood, and madre de cacao – entirely in harmony with nature.
