KAIRI Chocolate Company was founded in 2017 by husband and wife team Deosaran Jagroo and Cherie-Anne Ramlakhan, using cocoa exclusively from their family-owned La Carlota Estate in Trinidad. The estate, dating back to the early 1900s and acquired by their parents in 1960, still produces 100% fine flavour Trinitario cocoa from century-old trees. Their chocolate is crafted entirely on-site, from blossom to bar, with a deep focus on quality, sustainability, and preserving traditional farming methods.

KAIRI’s mission is to produce fine artisanal chocolate while maintaining ecological integrity and supporting regenerative practices within the cocoa industry. Core values include transparency, fair compensation for farmers, environmental stewardship, and honouring a legacy of four generations of cocoa cultivation.

The chocolate-making process—from harvesting to fermentation, drying, and final production—spans nearly a month and is overseen by the founders themselves. Beyond chocolate, KAIRI is deeply involved in social impact through support for HEAL House, a local rehab centre, and by offering training and facilities to neighboring cocoa farmers to help improve regional production and sustainability.
