Founded by Cameron and Lara, Bare Bones Chocolate is a micro-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate maker based in the heart of Glasgow.

All the chocolate is made in Bare Bones’ workshop in small batches of around 30kg. Cacao is roasted in-house on a modified Giesen coffee roaster, and much of the equipment has been engineered from scratch to suit their precise batch sizes — allowing full control over flavour development and consistency.

The brand’s minimalist identity was designed in-house to reflect the purity and quality of the chocolate inside. Sustainability sits at the core of Bare Bones’ packaging choices: all materials are sourced within the UK, made from recycled content, and are fully recyclable or compostable. Their boxes are produced using recycled paper coffee cups, while the plant-based wrappers are supplied by Vegware — designed to reduce environmental impact rather than maximise margins.

Cameron is a Mechanical Engineer, previously working for a premium automotive manufacturer. With a passion for coffee and bicycles, Cam is behind the precision and focus that goes into being a chocolate maker.

Lara is a food photographer, previously working in London alongside chefs, photographers and makers. Obsessed with food, good design and coffee culture, Lara works on the social media, marketing and customer connection.

Bare Bones Chocolate exists to build a sustainable brand that makes a meaningful contribution to the chocolate and food scene. Their aim is to showcase just how exceptional cacao can be — without soya lecithin, vegetable fats, additives, or E-numbers. For Bare Bones, chocolate should be pure, delicious, and ethical, honouring the farmers, the cacao, and the maker.

Behind every bar is a small, passionate team committed to obsessing over the details—because great chocolate is made one careful decision at a time.
