Description
“Gianduja is a well-known combination of cocoa and hazelnuts. Although it originated in Italy, it is unique and familiar to us. In Lithuanian mythology, there was a goddess Lazdona, who protected hazelnuts, and in the sutartinas (Lithuanian folk songs included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) of the Aukลกtaitija region, the hazelnut is called the Tree of Life, which grew in the middle of the waters. Hazelnuts were an important food for ancient Lithuanians, as well as sacred, so they always adorned the festive table.
The nuts used in our chocolate are sweet Halle giants, grown on the Lithuanian farm “Rieลกutas ir uoga”. We shelled these nuts ourselves, re-selected them, and blended them with the smooth and nutty cocoa from the Dominican Republic.”
