Description
A 75% dark chocolate bar made with organic cacao from the Idukki district of Kerala, in southwest India. Made from Trinitario and Forastero Mankuva varieties, the cacao develops a complex aromatic profile combining rich chocolate and dried fruit notes, with hints of almond, blackcurrant and redcurrant, followed by subtle woody, liquorice and coffee notes.
The cacao is purchased directly from farmers and fermented for five days at GoGround’s central processing facility. Drying and hand-selection of the beans are carried out by an all-female team.
Grown organically under forest canopy in a diverse agroforestry system, the cacao comes from one of India’s most biodiverse regions.
Awarded Gold at the 2024 International Chocolate Awards Europe Organic and French competitions, and Silver at the 2024 European competition.

Lady Merveilles
Founded in 2015 by Marine Schmitt, Lady Merveilles is a small bean-to-bar chocolate maker based in Saint-Avé, in Brittany, France. With a background in high-end pastry and chocolate making, including experience in France, England and Australia, Marine set out to create chocolate from the cocoa bean rather than using ready-made chocolate.
After building relationships with cocoa producers in Ecuador and sourcing specialist equipment, Lady Merveilles moved to a fully bean-to-bar approach across its range in 2021. Marine works closely with organic producers who use agroforestry and environmentally conscious farming methods.
The maker also uses locally sourced ingredients where possible, including Breton strawberries and sea salt, and finds ways to reuse cocoa by-products.
Combining careful sourcing, traditional craftsmanship and a focus on the character of individual cocoa origins, Lady Merveilles produces a varied range of organic bean-to-bar chocolates, including some distinctive high-cocoa milk chocolates and creative flavour combinations.
