Description
In a sunny desert area on Peru’s North coast, the Piura Blanco cacao thrives in the expansive Chulucanas valley in Piura. The cacao plantations are around 16 years old, and about 35% of each taco pod contains white beans. These white are highly prized and are known as “Piura’s Jewel.”
Ura Chocolate works directly with farmers across Peru to highlight the diversity of native cacao. Through small-batch production and careful roasting, the Señorita bar expresses the distinctive character of this Chuncho variety and the unique environment of the La Convención Valley.
