Description
Ouro, meaning “gold” in Portuguese, is a creamy chocolate made with cocoa from Sul da Bahia, Brazil, the only natural habitat of the golden-headed lion tamarin. The cocoa is grown in ‘cabrucas’, traditional cocoa plantations, where cocoa trees grow in the shade of the forest and other fruit trees.
The chocolate supports the Bio Brasil project, which works with local farmers to promote sustainable cocoa cultivation and help protect the tamarin’s threatened habitat.
