Description
”Chuncho” is a word in Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas, and it literally means “shy and small”.
“Chuncho” is also the name of one of the world’s finest and rarest cocoa bean varieties. Only less than one Ton of this exclusive ultra-premium variety N°5 are harvested annually. These trees are more than 100 years old.
It is produced ecologically and under fair conditions in the southern part of Peru.
It was originally grown by the Matshiguengas indigenous people who used to live in the remote Rio Apurimac and Villa Virgen valleys of the Cusco region in the south of Peru at an altitude of about 3,500 meters above sea level. Cocoa is still grown there today.
Honey, honeysuckle, custard apple, bergamot, plum, raisin and green tea. It´s a sensory revelation. Its low bitterness and an incredible creaminess makes the Chuncho variety stand out.
Free of additives such as emulsifiers, foreign fats, industrial sugar or flavourings.
