Description
Socially Just & Sustainable Cocoa Production
“Misky” means “sweet and delightful” in the language of the Incas.
Chocolate with 62% fine cocoa of the Chuncho variety, naturally cultivated in the highlands of the VRAEM region in Peru. It is of one of the world’s finest and rarest cocoa bean varieties, with a fascinating aroma profile and very low acidity.
“The vastness of the Peruvian rainforest holds a precious treasure that we want to protect at all costs. The original cocoa Chuncho, the mother of all cocoas, is an important part of the tropical ecosystem, but is massively threatened with extinction. With our project chocolates Inti, Misky and Ailla, we invest in the revival of nature with every bar sold by taking small steps to stimulate the reforestation of the rainforest. We work actively and transparently with our farmers, educating them about the long-term benefits of organic and sustainable farming and paying them a fair price for their cocoa beans. In this way, we can work together to protect the rainforest, prevent the extinction of the ancient cocoa and help Peruvian agriculture gain more autonomy and ecological understanding.”
